The Council of Fashion Designers of America has issued new guidelines that will prohibit models from strutting down New York Fashion Week's runways, if they are under the age of 16. The President of the Council Ms Diane von Furstenburg (also famous for being a fashion designer and WHO can forget that fleeting cameo in The City... Whitney Port, I read you) has announced that young models will be forced to show ID before they get on the catwalk. The Council has made it clear that fashion designers have a "responsibility", to protect young women involved in the somewhat, messed up industry. What do you think about this news? Has it been a long time coming, or will it prove to be futile? Do you think the models should follow facelesschic's lead and be provided with random shit to hide behind on the catwalk? And would covering the faces of models help the crisis that the fash pack face, or open the industry to a whole new wave of girls? Lemme know wha cha sayin.

  1. i think it's a good idea; children masquerading as adult women in order to sell luxury clothing has always seemed a tad problematic to me! (also, they should definitely be given random shit to hide behind a la faceless chic, haha!) x

    1. i hear ya sista, its so sick i just hope it works. i think if girls faces were covered there would be a lot more room for older women in the industry and would possibly even put an end to the ongoing issues that models face with weight etc. hmm interesting xx

    1. yeah i definitely agree, i think its completely messed up. it's also pretty weird if you think about it - 14/15 year old girls would never ever be able to afford/ want to wear these clothes, and it is almost as though fashion houses are telling grown women to aspire to be, and dress like children! bleurgh freaky xx

  3. Sounds like a good idea! Girls that are too young are more likely to not cope with the pressure, I think.
